Fortwilliam Dental Practice invite new patients with a warm welcome.
When becoming a patient at FDP we typically ask you to attend for an initial examination and complete a medical history form. This appointment is essential in allowing us to find out more about you and design a treatment plan right for you.
At your first examination the dentist will assess the following:
Tooth and Gum Check
A comprehensive assessment of the foundation of your teeth, health, function, and appearance.
Lifestyle
Diet and lifestyle choices such as smoking and alcohol consumption.
Jaw joint
To assess and rule out any causes of headaches/migraines due to grinding.
Radiographs
X rays to be taken where essential, an OPG is type of x ray great for an overall view of the entire mouth.
Internal soft tissue
Oral cancer screening, tongues, cheek, and palate check.
External soft tissue
The glands around your neck and lips are examined.
